Holiday Happiness Through Service To Others

We at Weech Financial want to thank our clients for their patronage and business throughout the year. We appreciate your business and, more importantly, the relationships we have with each of you. We hope that your holiday season is very enjoyable.

For my own family, I know that we find the most fulfillment during the holidays when we serve others. Doing for others what they can’t do for themselves, or what would be difficult to do themselves, is rewarding in and of itself. I remember the feeling as a youth when service opportunities were placed in front of me, I almost always had an initial selfish feeling of “what’s in it for me”. However, once I had done the service or service project, I never walked away thinking “that was a waste of time”. No, I left feeling great inside (even though I had not spent the last few hours playing my favorite video game, for instance).

Isn’t much of life like this where we may have negative thoughts before embarking on a service opportunity but always come away refreshed and ready to do greater things? I challenge each of us to reach outside our comfort zone, especially this time of year, to serve those around us. The good news is that a smile doesn’t cost a thing and yet can be so valuable to someone around you when they are feeling down or discouraged. Give it a try if you haven’t done something like that lately. Somehow, when we get lost in serving others, our own needs are satisfied and our outlook improves. Gratitude turns what we have into enough!

We look forward to working with our current clients and hopefully many new clients as the tax filing season begins in the next 6 weeks or so. Let us know if you have any questions. Please contact us. We plan to begin 2018 tax preparation appointments on February 4, 2019.
